How customers opt in to support texts
Effective October 5, 2026
Nerd Available sends operational text messages only when a customer actively chooses SMS updates while opening a support request. SMS consent is optional and never required to submit a ticket or purchase a service.
Opt-in flow
- An authorized customer signs in to the Nerd Available Customer Portal.
- They select Open a support ticket and enter their mobile number for that request.
- On the support form, an unchecked, optional checkbox is shown directly below the mobile-number field.
- The customer must actively select the checkbox before submitting their request. The ticket can be submitted without selecting it.
On-demand assistance requests
Organizations requesting one-time assistance through Help do not receive text messages. We respond to those requests by phone or email. Support texts are available only to managed clients through the Customer Portal.

Use a mobile number when you want SMS updates; otherwise enter the best number for a support callback.

Program details
- Messages are limited to requested IT support, callback coordination, and service or security updates.
- Message frequency varies and is generally limited to four messages per support request.
